This is dedicated to all those mujeres that grew up being called grenuda by your mamas, abuelitas, tias and sometimes the crazy neighbors.
La Grenuda got started because one day my friends, aka sisters, and I were talking and it turns out that we were all called grenuda when we were little. I know that a lot of little girls were probably called this however what was interesting to me is to find out that my really really close friends, the women I hold close to my heart, my sisters, were all called this. I have surrounded my myself with a bunch of grown up grenudas!
So what is a grenuda? It was that little girl who looked like she never combed her hair, the one that was always in trouble, she was always outside discovering the world. Only to grow up to be the non-conformist; The women who won't be used as a door mat; who speaks her mind and is often the one who advocates for people who can not do it for themselves.
La Grenuda is all this and more. I realized when looking for blogs written for the mexican/ indigenous women and her lifestyle, I found nada! So that is when I came up with idea to take it upon myself.
